Li Feifei's WorldLabs Unveils Spark2.0: First Cross-Platform 3DGS Renderer Integrated with Three.js

April 15th Update: WorldLabs, the spatial intelligence startup founded by Stanford University's Professor Fei-Fei Li, has officially unveiled its latest innovation: Spark2.0. This dynamic 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) renderer for the web achieves seamless integration with the mainstream Web3D framework, Three.js. Built on the WebGL2 technology stack, Spark2.0 overcomes hardware limitations, enabling users to access high-fidelity 3D spatial content directly through their browsers on desktop, iOS, Android, and VR mobile devices.
The core breakthrough of Spark2.0 is its novel Level of Detail (LoD) system. This system enables the streaming and real-time rendering of massive-scale 3DGS environments, effectively solving the problem of excessive hardware dependency for ultra-large scenes. Consequently, complex, high-precision 3D scenes once confined to professional workstations can now be transformed into lightweight experiences that run smoothly on mobile browsers. This "device-agnostic" capability significantly lowers the barrier to applying spatial intelligence technology, providing foundational support for the consumption and distribution of 3D content.
Industry analysis highlights Spark2.0's release as a pivotal step toward mainstream spatial intelligence. By merging 3DGS technology with the mature web ecosystem, WorldLabs not only pushes the boundaries of web-based 3D rendering but also showcases the vast potential for future spatial perception and reconstruction technologies in e-commerce, virtual tourism, and industrial collaboration. This end-to-end streaming rendering solution is accelerating the internet's evolution from traditional 2D interfaces toward immersive, interactive, and high-fidelity 3D experiences.
