Lenovo Unveils AI Cutie at MWC 2026: Desktop Robotic Arm Becomes Your New Workplace Assistant
If AI in 2025 is still confined to screen-based chats, 2026 marks the shift toward tangible, desk-integrated intelligence. At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Lenovo unveiled two groundbreaking AI hardware concepts: AI Workmate (an AI Office Partner) and AI Work Companion (an AI Office Assistant).
These devices shatter the notion that "AI is merely a chat interface," giving generative AI a physical presence.
AI Workmate Concept: A "Desktop Robotic Arm" with Expressions, Movement, and Projection
One of the exhibition’s standout "cute" innovations, humorously dubbed "a desk lamp with a soul" by the media:
Embodied Intelligence: Featuring a compact robotic arm, this device displays expressions on its top circular screen, communicating with users through animated eyes.
Physical Collaboration: Beyond code processing, it interacts with the physical world. Equipped with an internal camera, it scans paper documents placed before it to scan, summarize, and automatically generate a PPT.
"Air Transfer" Projection: With spatial awareness and gesture support, users can "drag" files from their computer via gestures. The device locates a nearby white wall for short-throw projection, instantly initiating collaboration mode.
Privacy First: Lenovo emphasizes that all data is processed locally, eliminating cloud uploads and ensuring office data security.
