HP Rolls Out ZBook Ultra G3a 16 With 192GB Unified Memory, Running 300B-Parameter Models Locally

The IT sector is witnessing a surge in edge AI computing capabilities. HP unveiled its latest mobile workstation, the ZBook Ultra G3a16, yesterday. Designed for power users and advanced developers, this device has garnered significant industry interest thanks to its high-end hardware and robust local large language model (LLM) performance.
Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO400 "Gorgon Halo" processor, the system supports up to 192GB of unified memory, with 160GB dedicated to graphics. This innovative architecture allows it to run LLMs with up to 300 billion parameters locally, eliminating the previous reliance on cloud clusters for such heavy computational tasks.
Weighing just 4.2 pounds (1.9 kg) and measuring 17.9mm thick, the ZBook Ultra G3a16 delivers stable 100W performance and offers optional 5G connectivity for seamless mobile productivity. Its modular design, including the keyboard, ensures easy maintenance and component replacement.
Pre-installed with Perplexity Computer’s local AI agent, the laptop is optimized for professional workflows in Autodesk Revit 2027, 3ds Max, and Chaos Enscape. It provides robust support for architectural design, 3D rendering, and complex AI inference tasks.
Set for an October 2026 launch, the ZBook Ultra G3a16 is priced at $7,449 (approximately 50,108 CNY). This positions it as a premium solution for professionals prioritizing peak performance and strict data security.
