Hongguo Short Drama Denies Rumor of Dropping AI Virtual Human Script Guarantee, Says Some Scripts Still Retain Guarantee
In response to rumors that "Hongguo Short Drama has scrapped base pay for AI virtual human scripts and moved entirely to a revenue-sharing model," a company representative recently denied the claim, stressing that base compensation policies remain in place for certain scripts.
Earlier, market reports indicated that a Hongguo Short Drama representative posted a notice in a screenwriters' group stating that under the latest policy effective April 27, newly accepted scripts would offer only pure revenue sharing at a 20% rate. However, scripts meeting post-validation popularity incentive thresholds could still qualify for individual bonuses, and script tiers could be upgraded as quality improves. This announcement caused an uproar among screenwriters, with some jokingly calling it a "zero-cost acquisition," and reports suggested that only a handful of top screenwriters still had their base income unchanged.
