Google Pixel 10 Ad Takes Aim at Apple Intelligence in New Campaign

Apple launched its iPhone 16 lineup last year, highlighting a forthcoming, more personalized Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. Nearly a year on, that enhanced Siri remains unavailable, leading Apple to postpone its AI improvements and withdraw an earlier iPhone 16 ad. Google is now ensuring consumers remember this setback.
A new Pixel 10 advertisement from Google directly references Apple's unfulfilled Siri promise. The narrator proposes that if you "bought a new phone for a feature promised 'soon'—but it's been 'soon' for an entire year—you might just need a different phone."
The 30-second ad debuted on YouTube and X, promoting the August 20th launch of Google's Pixel 10. While meant to build anticipation, the reveal is somewhat muted due to Google's own premature leaks, official teasers, and widespread rumors.
Google's campaign follows a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman detailing Apple's AI delays. At a recent internal meeting, Apple's software chief Craig Federighi attributed the holdup to challenges in developing Siri's hybrid architecture. The company is now reportedly rebuilding Siri with a new foundation.
Federighi stated, "This delay has allowed us to aim beyond our initial announcement and prepare a far more significant upgrade. No project has a higher priority within Apple." He acknowledged in June that delivering the promised Siri overhaul would "take longer than originally anticipated."
