Google Arts & Culture Launches 4 New Interactive Games for Summer Inspiration
Unlock Art & Culture in Playful New Ways This Summer
This summer, dive into four exciting digital experiments that blend technology, gaming, and art to make culture more accessible—and way more fun. Developed by Google Arts & Culture Lab’s artists in residence and in collaboration with the Cleveland Museum of Art, these interactive experiences invite you to explore art in fresh, engaging ways.
🎵 One Sound, Two Frames: Can You Match the Music to the Art?
Ever wondered what a painting sounds like? One Sound, Two Frames challenges you to listen to AI-generated music and match it to the correct artwork.
Created by Emmanuel Durgoni (Google Arts & Culture Lab artist in residence) and Timo Denk (Google DeepMind Research Scientist), this experiment uses Google AI to analyze artworks, describe them, and then compose music that captures their essence.
🔹 How it works:
- Listen to AI-generated music inspired by art.
- Study two artworks and guess which one matches the tune.
- The more you play, the sharper your artistic intuition becomes!
📌 Hint: Pay close attention to colors, brushstrokes, and mood—they all influence the music!
⏳ One Minute Guides: Art for Every Passion
Are you a fashion lover, foodie, romantic, or sports fan? One Minute Guides tailors art history to your interests.
Developed by artist in residence Jack Wild, this experiment uses Google AI to create bite-sized, personalized introductions to major art movements—from Romanticism to Manga.
🔹 New collaboration with the Cleveland Museum of Art:
Thanks to their Open Access API and Google’s Gemini model, you can now explore deep dives into:
- Sculpture
- Chinese Art
- Furniture & Decorative Arts
- Textiles
📌 Pro tip: The more you interact, the better the AI gets at recommending art you’ll love.
🎨 What the Art? A Party Game for Art Detectives
Grab your friends—or go solo—for What the Art?, a fast-paced drawing and guessing game created with French indie studio La Belle Games.
🔹 How to play:
- One player becomes the artist, sketching a famous artwork in real time.
- Everyone else races to guess the masterpiece from 10 options.
- The fastest correct guess earns the most points!
From Renaissance classics to modern masterpieces, this game will test your art knowledge (and drawing skills!).
📌 Perfect for game nights—supports up to 8 players!
🏛️ Daily Gallery: Build Your Dream Art Collection
Ever wanted to curate your own museum? Daily Gallery lets you design a virtual gallery, one day at a time.
🔹 How it works:
- Each day, you receive new artworks and furnishings to decorate your space.
- Return daily to unlock Golden Rooms, where you can showcase your favorite pieces.
- Share your best designs with friends!
Created with Danish studio Set Snail, this experiment turns you into an art collector—no budget required.
