Google has announced an expansion of its AI assistant, making the Gemini chatbot feature integrated into Chrome available in more countries and regions. According to Google, the update targets desktop and iOS users and has officially launched across many countries in Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
European Market Excluded Again
Despite this large-scale expansion, the European market is once again left out of the service coverage. Google did not specify reasons for the exclusion in its update announcement, but noted that it may consider expanding to the region in the future. Since the feature first launched in the U.S. last year, it has gradually rolled out to Canada, India, and other regions, yet European users remain unable to access it in the near term.
Deep Integration with Tab Content
As a native Chrome feature, Gemini can directly view the user's open tabs and windows. It can automatically summarize long web pages and efficiently cross-reference information across multiple tabs. Thanks to its deep integration with Google's ecosystem, users can access tools like Calendar, Maps, and Gmail directly from the sidebar without leaving the current page, making it easier to handle daily work tasks.
