According to media reports, the AI project Genspark, co-founded by Jing Kun — a former vice president at Baidu — and technology expert Zhu Kaihua, announced the expansion of its Series B funding round in March 2026. The total raised reached $385 million, with a post-money valuation of around $1.6 billion (approximately 11 billion yuan). Strikingly, the team behind this billion-dollar valuation comprises only about 20 people.

The founding team's background is undoubtedly a major factor in attracting investment. Jing Kun previously served as vice president and general manager of the Smart Life Group (SLG) at Baidu , and was a key figure behind Xiaodu. Zhu Kaihua was the chief architect at Baidu.
