EU and Israeli AI, Climate Startups Gain Support

Startups are revolutionizing the tech landscape, and in Europe and Israel, entrepreneurs are tackling some of the planet's biggest challenges head-on. But, let's face it, scaling up isn't a walk in the park, and these trailblazers often find themselves in need of more support, expertise, and tools. That's where we come in—Google is all about backing these innovative journeys with our top-notch tools, mentors, and networks.

We're thrilled to announce the opening of applications for two new Google for Startups Accelerator programs: Climate Change and AI First. These initiatives are all about empowering startups by hooking them up with the resources they need to tackle their challenges and scale their solutions effectively.

Google for Startups Accelerator: Climate Change

Teaming up with Google Sustainability and Google Cloud, this program targets Seed to Series A stage startups in Europe and Israel that are working on tech to fight climate change and help reach net-zero emissions. Think renewable energy solutions, cutting-edge waste management systems, and more.

The Climate Change Accelerator harnesses the power of cloud technology, AI, and machine learning to boost sustainability efforts. AI's knack for spotting patterns, making predictions, and learning from data is a game-changer in addressing the climate crisis. In fact, a joint report with Boston Consulting Group suggests that AI could help cut global greenhouse gas emissions by 5-10%.

Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First

AI is shaking things up across industries, promising to solve complex problems and boost efficiencies. A McKinsey report predicts that AI could contribute a whopping $13 trillion to the global economy by 2030. But, to make the most of this potential, AI development needs to be guided by ethical standards and solid technical know-how.

Designed for Seed to Series A stage startups in Europe and Israel, and in partnership with Google Cloud and Google DeepMind, the AI First Accelerator offers mentorship and technical support to help startups grow responsibly with AI. It's all about supporting teams with a clear vision for using AI and ML to tackle real-world issues across various sectors, building AI-powered solutions and leveraging these technologies in groundbreaking ways.

About the Programs

Applications are open until July 21, and both programs will kick off in September with a hybrid format. Each 10-week accelerator blends hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and tailored technical support.

Participants will tap into Google's AI expertise, get access to the latest tools, and stay connected with mentors and fellow founders through our alumni network. The programs mix in-person and virtual activities, with one-on-one mentoring and group learning sessions. Key areas of focus include product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development. Plus, selected startups will enjoy dedicated Google Cloud technical expertise and credits through the Google for Startups Cloud Program.
