xAI Sues Apple and OpenAI for Alleged Antitrust Violations

On Monday, Elon Musk's X and xAI initiated legal action against Apple and OpenAI, accusing the two corporations of collaborating to suppress market competition.
The lawsuit states: "In a desperate attempt to safeguard its smartphone dominance, Apple has allied with the entity that profits most from restricting competition and innovation in AI: OpenAI, the dominant provider of generative AI chatbots." This refers to Apple's arrangement with OpenAI to incorporate ChatGPT into its ecosystem.
This legal challenge represents the latest development in the ongoing conflict between Musk and Altman, who continue exchanging public criticisms. Musk, previously a co-founder and co-chair of OpenAI, has pursued legal measures to prevent OpenAI's shift to a profit-driven model. He also made an unsolicited $97.4 billion offer to acquire OpenAI, which the organization declined.
This is a remarkable claim given what I have heard alleged that Elon does to manipulate X to benefit himself and his own companies and harm his competitors and people he doesn't like. https://t.co/HlgzO4c2iC

Earlier this month, Musk used X to publicize anticompetitive allegations against OpenAI and Apple, asserting that "no AI firm other than OpenAI can achieve the top position in the App Store."
The collaboration between Apple and OpenAI was revealed last June, with integrated functionalities scheduled for release in December.
OpenAI and Apple have not yet responded to inquiries for commentary.
