Elon Musk Pursues Legal Action Against Microsoft Employees Critical of Charlie Kirk

Elon Musk is urging Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to investigate Blizzard employees who made critical remarks about Charlie Kirk following his passing. Musk shared a post referencing an X thread that identified developers by name and included screenshot evidence.
"What's going on here, @satyanadella?" Musk asked. In a subsequent post, he emphasized, "These are Microsoft employees."
Musk's direct appeal to Nadella occurs amidst a wider push for content moderation from Republicans, targeting those who celebrated Kirk's death or spoke against him. Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) stated he would leverage "Congressional authority and all available influence with major tech platforms to enforce a permanent, lifetime ban on every post or commenter that disparaged the assassination of Charlie Kirk."
Former Blizzard developer Mark Kern, known online as "Grummz" and a frequent commentator on right-wing topics on X, reposted the original thread. He asserted that the screenshots depicted Blizzard employees "trashing" Kirk. Musk then quoted this post himself, directing his question to Nadella.
Microsoft addressed the situation in a post on its main @Microsoft page on X, stating, "We are aware of the views expressed by a small number of our employees in relation to recent events." The company continued, "We treat such matters with the utmost seriousness and are reviewing each case individually. Comments that glorify violence against any individual are unacceptable and contrary to our values." (It should be noted that the screenshots shared in Musk's thread do not appear to celebrate the shooting targeting Kirk.) As of this report, Nadella has not publicly responded to Musk.
