Ni Fei, CEO of Navea, revealed that the next-generation Doubao smartphone, branded as "Navea NaviX Ultra," will launch in September. Positioned as the world’s first AI smart agent flagship, it marks a significant milestone. Ni noted, "From the M153 prototype last December to the Navea NaviX Ultra receiving network approval, we are now at the critical final stage of transforming the AI smart agent concept into a mass-producible reality."
Beyond "AI-Enabled": A Large-Scale Model as the Core System Foundation
Unlike current "AI-enabled smartphones" that treat AI as an add-on application layered over a standard operating system, the new Doubao smartphone is AI-native. Here, the large-scale model smart agent serves as the core engine of the OS, not merely an app.
This architecture unlocks unique capabilities. The device can mimic human interactions, such as reading the screen and tapping buttons. For instance, if a user requests, "Find the cheapest flight to Shanghai for tomorrow," the AI autonomously opens the booking app, handles search, comparison, and data entry, and only returns control to the user at the payment stage—requiring no manual input.
For privacy and security, all memory processing and computation occur locally on the device. No data is uploaded to the cloud, ensuring complete protection of user information.
