DJI Prepares to Launch Three New Drone Models
DroneXL reports that DJI is gearing up to launch three new drones in the coming months: a Mini 5 Pro, Avata 3, and Neo 2. The website shared leaked photos and video footage of these models, plus an FCC filing hinting at a new wearable action camera called the DJI Osmo Nano.
DroneXL also posted a video showing two drones believed to be successors to the Avata 2 and the popular DJI Neo. According to the outlet, the Avata 3 has its battery positioned further back and features a larger front camera unit. It also uses four-blade propellers instead of the Avata 2’s three-blade design. Next to the Avata 3 is what appears to be a Neo 2 prototype, though its main visible upgrade seems to be redesigned propeller guards.

The documents note the Mini 5 Pro will include a 33.5Wh battery—significantly larger than the Mini 4 Pro’s 18.9Wh battery. The outlet also states that the wireless transmission specs support rumors of a 25-kilometer (15.5-mile) video streaming range, which would be 5 kilometers farther than the previous model. This extended range brings it closer to the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, which unexpectedly went on sale in the US despite reports it wouldn’t launch here. The Mini 5 Pro is rumored to debut in September.
To round out its report, DroneXL pointed to another FCC filing for the DJI Osmo Nano, a modular wearable action camera with a display similar to the Action series. The site also mentions that DJI is expected to introduce a Mic 3 and Osmo 360 camera, though no release timeline has been confirmed.
