Cloudflare Unveils Open Source AI Agent Workspace, Empowering Employees to Build Custom Workflows Without Code
Cloudflare has officially released Cloudflare OS, an open-source AI agent workspace that operates directly in the browser. This platform integrates a wide array of customizable, shareable micro-applications. Far from being a mere wrapper around generic AI tools, Cloudflare OS was built from the ground up by Cloudflare’s internal team to address specific operational needs. After extensive internal testing, the platform is now open-sourced for enterprise adoption. Matthew Prince, Cloudflare’s co-founder and CEO, emphasized that for AI to drive real enterprise transformation, it must move beyond isolated silos. The goal is to empower every employee with the tools to securely build and automate workflows.

Cloudflare OS’s primary advantage is its ability to capture and leverage internal organizational knowledge from day one. Employees without coding expertise can create personalized micro-applications using the company’s internal knowledge base, design workflows, and collaborate internally. This approach prevents the loss of critical context often associated with generic AI tools. By enabling teams to build intelligent applications that deeply understand their specific business logic, the platform moves beyond one-size-fits-all external solutions.
Zero-trust architecture with integrated models ensures enterprise control over data and costs
As a fully open-source framework, Cloudflare OS runs on the enterprise’s own Cloudflare account, granting complete control over processes, contextual data, and system integrations. This eliminates the risk of vendor lock-in into closed ecosystems. Leveraging Cloudflare Access technology, the system enforces a zero-trust architecture by rigorously verifying every access and request, aligning with strict enterprise security and compliance standards.
The platform also features a “bring-your-own-model” capability, allowing enterprises to connect to any AI model provider via Cloudflare AI Gateway. Administrators can precisely monitor token usage and costs, with detailed breakdowns by user, team, and application. Budgets and rate limits can be configured, and requests can be distributed based on complexity—routing routine tasks to lightweight models while reserving advanced large models for high-level reasoning. Prince noted that Cloudflare OS was developed to fill a market gap for such tailored solutions, and is now available for all enterprises to utilize.
