Anthropic Enhances Claude with Seamless Tool Integrations and Advanced Research
Anthropic has unveiled new 'Integrations' for Claude, enabling the AI to connect directly with your preferred work tools. The company also introduced an upgraded 'Advanced Research' feature for deeper insights.
The Integrations feature simplifies a technical standard Anthropic introduced last year, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), making it more user-friendly. Previously complex and local, it now allows developers to create secure connections for Claude to interact with web or desktop apps.
For Claude users, this means seamless integration with popular work software. Initial support includes ten major platforms: Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence for project and dev teams, automation leader Zapier, Cloudflare, customer engagement tool Intercom, plus Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, and Plaid. Stripe and GitLab integrations are coming soon.
The key benefit is context. By accessing project histories in Jira, team knowledge in Confluence, or task updates in Asana, Claude moves beyond assumptions to deliver informed responses tailored to your work.
“By linking your tools to Claude, it gains rich context about your projects—understanding task statuses, histories, and organizational knowledge—enabling actions across platforms,” Anthropic explains.
“Claude becomes a smarter collaborator, streamlining complex projects with expert guidance at every step,” they add.
In practice, connecting Zapier allows Claude to manage thousands of apps via workflows. You could ask Claude to pull sales data from HubSpot, check your calendar, and draft meeting notes—all without touching those apps.
For teams using Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, Claude can draft product specs, summarize lengthy Confluence documents, or generate linked Jira tickets in bulk. It may even identify potential issues by analyzing project data.
For Intercom users, Claude’s integration transforms customer support. Paired with Intercom’s AI assistant, Fin, Claude can auto-generate bug reports in Linear from customer issues or analyze chat histories to identify trends, debug problems, or summarize feedback, streamlining the process from issue to resolution.
Anthropic is also empowering developers to build custom integrations. Using tools or platforms like Cloudflare for security and setup, developers can create tailored Claude connections for internal systems or industry-specific software in about 30 minutes.
Claude’s Research Capabilities Get a Major Boost
In addition to integrations, Anthropic has enhanced Claude’s Research feature. Previously capable of web and Google Workspace searches, the new 'Advanced Research' mode is designed for in-depth investigations.
When activated, this mode breaks complex queries into smaller parts, thoroughly exploring each using the web, Google Docs, and connected apps via Integrations, then compiling a comprehensive report.
This thorough approach takes time—typically 5 to 15 minutes for reports, with complex queries up to 45 minutes. Compared to hours of manual research, it’s a significant time-saver.
Claude ensures transparency by linking all sources—whether websites, internal docs, Jira tickets, or Confluence pages—allowing users to verify information directly.
These Integrations and Advanced Research mode are now in beta for Anthropic’s Max, Team, and Enterprise plan users, with Pro plan access coming soon.
The standard web search feature in Claude is now globally available for all paid Claude.ai plans (Pro and above), with no geographic restrictions.
These updates position Claude as a vital professional tool, integrating seamlessly with existing workflows and offering powerful analysis capabilities, making it indispensable for modern workplaces.

Claude devient vraiment impressionnant avec ces intégrations ! Connecter mes outils de travail directement, c’est un gain de temps fou. Mais j’espère qu’ils gardent un œil sur la sécurité des données. 😊
