Claude AI Assistant Enters Beta for Hands-Free Mac Control
AI assistants are evolving from simple conversational tools into systems capable of deep task execution.
On March 24, AI startup Anthropic launched a highly anticipated preview of its "Computer Use" feature. This allows Claude to move beyond the standard text box and take direct control of a user's Mac computer, functioning as a true digital employee.

Bridging the Gap: AI Operates a Mouse Like a Human
Official demos show that, using the Claude Cowork and Claude Code applications, Claude can transcend virtual boundaries in several key ways:
Autonomous Navigation: The AI identifies desktop elements, moves the cursor naturally, clicks icons, and switches between applications seamlessly.
Process Automation: From opening and editing local documents to auto-filling complex spreadsheets or managing tedious tasks in professional software, Claude can plan and execute workflows independently.
Remote Control: Paired with the Dispatch feature, users can send voice or text commands from their phone to control their office computer and complete tasks remotely.
Exclusive Preview: High Threshold for Early Access
This feature is currently in an early testing phase with strict access requirements:
System Limitations: The initial "research preview" is exclusively available on macOS.
Target Users: Testing is limited to advanced users subscribed to Claude Pro and Claude Max plans.
The Next Era: From "Chatbox" to "Operating System"
Anthropic's release accelerates the shift of large language models toward becoming full-fledged AI Agents. Instead of users feeding data to the AI, the AI can now enter the user's desktop environment and deeply integrate into real-world workflows.
