Xi’an Jiaotong University’s technology transfer arm, Lan Chong, unveiled the new modular humanoid robot, Mantis Standard “Bai Xiao,” on September 14. By lowering the traditional barriers to entry for humanoid robotics, this model starts at just 0.98 million yuan, sparking significant industry interest.
Positioned as more than a standard humanoid robot, “Bai Xiao” serves as an intelligent body platform capable of flexible form transformations. Its hardware features standard modules for the chassis, arms, waist, and head, connected via quick-fit interfaces for seamless mechanical and electrical integration, significantly boosting system scalability and versatility.
Key specifications include a 1.4-meter height, 22 degrees of freedom, and a single-arm load capacity of 7kg. With an arm span of 663mm and remote operation latency under 10ms, the robot offers a waist lift range of 550mm. The chassis supports 3-DOF omnidirectional movement, reaching forward speeds of up to 3m/s and lifting speeds of 200mm/s, with a total battery life of 3 hours.
Seamlessly integrated into mainstream body development ecosystems, “Bai Xiao” is ready for immediate use. Lan Chong supports this with comprehensive R&D and training services, including tools, tutorials, and technical support, enabling developers to establish a cost-effective workflow from algorithm labs to real-world applications.
