Apple Watch debuts Siri AI, marking a major evolution for the 11-year voice assistant
Apple has rolled out watchOS 27 beta 3 to developers, introducing Siri AI and a dedicated Siri app for the first time. This update enables Apple Watch users to enjoy smarter voice interactions directly on their wrists, representing a major leap forward for the device.
As Siri enters its AI-driven era, it can now process complex voice commands and manage intricate tasks. Activating Siri on the watch brings up the app centrally on the screen, ready to answer queries and execute commands efficiently.

Hardware Requirements and Cross-Device Sync
The Apple Watch’s Siri AI relies on an iPhone with Apple Intelligence capabilities for data processing, as it does not operate independently. Currently, only the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 17 series meet this hardware standard.
Apple ensures seamless ecosystem integration by syncing all Siri app conversations on the Apple Watch with other devices linked to the same account, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
Significant Model Cuts
With the introduction of advanced AI features, watchOS 27 has also seen the most extensive reduction in compatible devices in Apple Watch history. Supported models include the Apple Watch SE 3, Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, Ultra 2, and Ultra 3.
Consequently, many older models are excluded from this update. Devices such as the Apple Watch Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, original Apple Watch Ultra, and Apple Watch SE 2 will not receive the new system.
