According to AIbase, AI due diligence startup DiligenceSquared recently announced a $5 million seed funding round. This round was led by Relentless , founded by Damir Becirovic, former partner at Index Ventures, marking the beginning of generative AI's deep involvement in the core decision-making processes of the private equity (PE) industry.
DiligenceSquared was co-founded by Frederik Hansen, former partner at Blackstone Group, Søren Biltoft, former senior consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Harshil Rastogi, former Google engineer. As a member of YC Fall 2025, the team uses AI voice agents to replace expensive management consultants, conducting in-depth interviews directly with target company clients and executives.
This technology application significantly reduces the research costs traditionally incurred by consulting firms like McKinsey or Bain, which often range from $500,000 to $1,000,000, to just $50,000, while ensuring delivery quality verified by senior consultants.
Currently, DiligenceSquared has assisted several top global private equity funds with multiple merger and acquisition due diligence projects. Its low cost and high efficiency enable PE firms to conduct in-depth due diligence at an earlier stage of transactions.
