$300 Motorola Outshines iPhone 16e with Superior Display and Battery Life at Half the Price
When you dive into the heart of the Moto G Power, you'll find it's powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, the same engine that drove its predecessor. But this time, it's backed by a robust 8GB of RAM, which can be "expanded up to 24GB with RAM Boost." Right off the bat, I could tell the performance had stepped up its game. Playing intensive games like Honkai Star Rail, the animations flowed more smoothly. Sure, there was less stuttering, but the game still struggled with its graphical resolution, which was a bit of a letdown.

Solid Battery Life
Both the Moto G Power and its sibling come equipped with a hefty 5,000mAh battery, promising a multi-day charge. Yet, the Moto G Power didn't quite live up to that promise. In my hands-on testing, it managed to last about three days before needing a recharge. Meanwhile, the base Moto G outdid it by a full day. What caught me off guard was that I actually used the Power model less, so I expected it to last longer. But, surprisingly, it didn't.
Recharge times were a bit of a drag, too. Instead of the brisk 30 minutes to hit 50%, it took over 45 minutes. It's not exactly slow, but when you're comparing it to the other model, it feels like it. Still, getting a multi-day battery life in about an hour is something to be proud of, no doubt about it.
ZDNET's Buying Advice
The Motorola Moto G Power is currently on sale for $300 at Amazon. If you're in the market for a phone that offers a solid camera and a mini home theater experience, this is the one for you. It really packs a punch for its price point. Plus, its durability makes it a great travel companion. But, if battery life is your top priority, you might want to take a look at the base Moto G instead.

Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical about the 'RAM Boost' feature. It sounds like good marketing, but using storage as virtual RAM often isn't as smooth as real RAM. Still, for half the price of an iPhone, getting a decent display and battery is a solid deal for budget-conscious folks. Might be a good backup phone! 📱

Wow, the Moto G Power sounds like a beast for $300! That display and battery life beating the iPhone 16e is wild. Curious how the camera stacks up, though—any good for low-light shots? 😎
