Anthropic released a major Claude voice mode update on July 23, allowing users to switch between Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku models. The mode defaults to the fastest model based on previous text chat. It now supports long conversations, communication style feedback, customer pitch practice, and market research planning. It can directly call third-party apps like Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Canva, and Notion via voice commands. OpenAI's voice update lacks external tool integration. Claude voice supports ten languages. Beta testers can access it; free users get only Haiku and one external app.
