Shanghai police solved over 100 false enterprise rumor cases this year and arrested more than 210 suspects for hacking and defamation. In a notable case, suspect Wang used AI-generated articles to defame a tech firm after its financing deal, extorting 2.3 million yuan through fake retraction and consulting fees. Police confirmed the content was false and have taken criminal measures against Wang, removing all affected information to restore market order.
