Google is exploring Samsung as a foundry partner for its next-generation AI chip, the tenth-gen TPU codenamed Icefish. The chip will use a split manufacturing model: TSMC for the 1.4nm compute core and Samsung for the 2nm memory I/O die. Expected mass production by 2028. Samsung also secured foundry orders from Tesla and NVIDIA.
