Microsoft launched MAI-Transcribe-1, a new speech-to-text model with a 3.9 average word error rate across 25 languages, claiming it is the worlds most accurate. Priced at $0.36 per hour on its Foundry platform, it outperforms rivals like OpenAIs Whisper and offers 2.5x faster batch processing than its Azure Fast service. Microsoft is also adding its MAI-Image-2 and MAI-Voice-1 models to Foundry.
