White House Urgently Revokes Ban, US Cybersecurity Agency Deploys AI Mythical Model for Code Audits

Insiders report that the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is now leveraging the "Mythos" model, created by AI startup Anthropic, to perform a thorough audit of U.S. government software code and mitigate potential security risks.
This confidential work is carried out by CISA's "Attack Surface Assessment" team, which focuses on digital security evaluations for multiple government agencies. To date, the model has uncovered numerous critical vulnerabilities that could be exploited by foreign intelligence agencies or cybercriminals.
A Turbulent and Competitive Collaboration JourneyThe partnership between Anthropic and the U.S. government has seen notable fluctuations over recent months. In February, the company was temporarily added to the Pentagon's "supply chain risk" blacklist after declining to remove safety restrictions that prevent use in autonomous weapons.
Afterward, Anthropic quietly introduced the "Mythos" model, tailored for cybersecurity vulnerability detection, which quickly defused tensions. The U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) had previously commended the model's deep reasoning and vulnerability detection capabilities during internal tests.
Global Access Restrictions LiftedBesides a government-specific version, Anthropic earlier released a public compliance model named "Fable." However, soon after its launch, the White House abruptly demanded a total ban on overseas access, resulting in a global technology blockade.
Fortunately, after negotiating regulatory and security boundaries, the U.S. government officially removed export restrictions on the model last week. Major national security agencies continue to conduct in-depth assessments of this AI technology to secure a technological edge in digital warfare.
