On the afternoon of April 27, the Qwen app initiated a limited beta test of Alibaba's video model, HappyHorse. Users can access it by clicking the "HappyHorse" button on the app's homepage. Leveraging its strong narrative capabilities, synchronized audio-visual output, and versatile style adaptation, early testers have already produced numerous short videos in styles reminiscent of classic TVB Hong Kong dramas, the CCTV *Romance of the Three Kingdoms* series, and vintage cinema. These creations are being shared within the Qwen app community. The feature also allows users to generate similar content with a single click using text prompts.
HappyHorse offers distinct advantages for narrative-driven video content. For example, its narrative engine can transform a simple text description into a multi-scene video complete with dynamic camera movements and smooth transitions. Regarding style, HappyHorse accurately interprets and replicates specific aesthetics, such as the look and feel of old Hong Kong films or classic movies.
During the beta phase, creators on the Qwen app have been creatively pushing HappyHorse's boundaries. One user generated a clip in the style of the classic CCTV *Three Kingdoms* adaptation, featuring a strategist offering humorous "workplace advice": "If you have a stomachache, just eat more of the boss's big pancake diagrams." Another netizen used a *Criminal Investigation* documentary style to create a short film where a police officer interrogates a cat, concluding with the verdict, "All the canned fish this month shall be forfeited to the stray cats."
Coming soon, the Qwen app will introduce a new interactive feature titled "Test Yourself." Users will answer a few quick quiz questions to discover their destined role in a short drama universe. By then uploading a photo, they can use HappyHorse 1.0 to generate a personalized short drama clip starring themselves. Additionally, Qwen will launch the "Imagination Challenge" on April 28th, inviting creators to participate and experiment with the tool.
As Alibaba's newly released multimodal video generation model, Happy Horse 1.0 supports 15-second multi-shot storytelling, adapts to various aspect ratios, and outputs in 1080P super resolution. It excels in video quality, narrative coherence, character expressiveness, audio-visual synchronization, and stylistic range, garnering significant attention from the global AI community.
