Tencent's AI Agent Peng Xing Expands from Desktop to Full Ecosystem with Shrimp Farming Array
Tencent CEO Ma Huateng recently unveiled the "Shrimp" AI agent product matrix on his social media, signaling the company's full-scale push into the AI agent ecosystem.
This portfolio includes self-developed Shrimp, Local Shrimp, Cloud Shrimp, Enterprise Shrimp, and Secure Isolated Shrimp Rooms, creating a diverse product lineup. The flagship offering, the full-scenario desktop AI agent WorkBuddy, launched officially on March 9th. It is fully compatible with OpenClaw (Shrimp) skill packages, supports integration with multiple leading domestic AI models, and features a "zero-deployment, plug-and-play" setup akin to a standard app, dramatically simplifying cross-software automation for individual users.

Concurrently, QClaw, a local AI assistant built on the OpenClaw open-source ecosystem, has entered internal testing, enhancing Tencent's AI agent capabilities from the cloud to the device level. Earlier reports indicated Tencent is developing a WeChat AI agent, slated for a Q3 release, designed to interact with millions of mini-programs via conversation and deeply integrate services like ride-hailing and food delivery.
Propelled by these initiatives, Tencent's share price saw a notable increase this week, hitting an intraday high of HKD 578—a rise of over 11% from the previous week. As AI agent technology transitions from experimentation to widespread commercial use, Tencent is leveraging its deep integration with core services and open-source ecosystem to compete for dominance in AI 2.0 user interaction. This trend also suggests the window for enterprise AI adoption is closing rapidly.
