Teenage Engineering Unveils Plastic PC Case at No Cost

Teenage Engineering is renowned for its electronic instruments and sleek audio gear. Now, the company has unveiled a new computer case, the Computer-2. It follows the 2021 release of the $149 Computer-1 and is being offered for free, which Teenage Engineering claims makes it "the world's cheapest computer case." Currently, the Computer-2 is listed as sold out on their website, but you can register your email to be notified when it's back in stock.
Similar to its predecessor, the Computer-2 is built for small form factor PCs. It accommodates a mini-ITX motherboard, an SFX power supply, and a dual-slot graphics card up to roughly 7 inches in length. All these components must be supplied by the user. The key difference from the aluminum Computer-1 is that the new model is constructed from a single sheet of semi-transparent PP plastic.
The chassis uses plastic hinges and snap hooks, folding into a rigid case complete with a top carrying handle. Detailed 18-step assembly instructions are available on Teenage Engineering's site. The company also states that the motherboard can be installed simply by clicking it into place, eliminating the need for screws or brackets.
