Tammy Nam Appointed CEO of AI Ad Startup Creatopy

Creatopy, the AI-driven startup that's all about making digital ad creation a breeze, has a new CEO in town: Tammy Nam. She's no stranger to the startup world, having been the COO and CMO at Picsart, a photo-editing sensation, and before that, she ran the show as CEO at Viki, a video streaming service. In an email chat with TechCrunch, Nam mentioned that Creatopy was on the hunt for a U.S.-based leader who knows the ins and outs of scaling early-stage companies, has worked alongside European founders (since the product kicked off in Romania), and is well-versed in marketing tech. "Fortunately, I fit that bill," she said with a confident grin.
Alongside her new role as CEO, Nam is also hopping onto the Creatopy board, while the former CEO, Dan Oros, shifts gears into an advisory position. Last year, the startup scored a hefty $10 million Series A, with European VCs 3VC and Point Nine leading the charge. Eva Arh, a partner at 3VC, didn't hold back her praise, calling Nam "one of the best operators I know."
From February 2024 to February 2025, Creatopy's mid-market and enterprise revenue skyrocketed by a whopping 400%, with most of that growth happening in the last half-year. Big names like AstraZeneca, NASCAR, and The Economist are among their clients. "What's remarkable about Creatopy—especially for a relatively unknown company—is our ability to land major enterprise customers in demanding industries like pharma and banking," Nam proudly stated.
She pointed out that customers are head over heels for Creatopy's intuitive interface, unique product features, and top-notch customer service. As large language models become more common, Nam believes Creatopy stands out by understanding customer needs and delivering personalized, high-touch value on top of AI technology. "Our AI doesn't replace strategic thinking; it amplifies it," she explained. "Some of our customers have reported a 10x or more increase in productivity because we eliminate the tedious, manual work of generating hundreds of ad variations across sizes, formats, languages, etc."
Brand safety is another big deal for Creatopy. Marketing managers can upload brand kits during account setup, ensuring that every AI-generated ad sticks to their brand guidelines. "Our AI doesn't replace strategic thinking; it amplifies it," Nam emphasized, highlighting how their technology boosts productivity while keeping the human touch intact.

Picsart's growth was impressive though, so maybe this time it'll actually work out. Just wondering if AI ad creation really needs a CEO with heavy media background or more tech expertise. 🤔
