Spotify aims to become the home for AI-generated personal audio

In recent years, tools such as Google’s NotebookLM, Hero, and Adobe Acrobat have empowered users to generate podcasts from source materials like documents, schedules, and articles. Spotify now enables access to these audio files within its platform, though utilizing this feature requires specific programming utilities.
According to the company, users who already employ coding assistants like OpenAI’s Codex, Anthropic’s Claude Code, or OpenClaw can leverage Spotify’s new beta CLI tool to generate podcasts and import them for later listening.
“Users are increasingly using AI agents to produce personalized audio that structures their day, ranging from exam study summaries to calendar briefings. They have requested a seamless way to listen to this content on Spotify, their primary audio destination,” the company explained in a blog post.
These generated podcasts will be stored in the user’s private Spotify library for convenient access, but they remain invisible to other Spotify users.
To utilize this feature, users must visit the tool’s GitHub repository and follow the provided setup instructions. The process requires logging into a Spotify account via a web browser.

Once authenticated, users can input a prompt such as “Create an audio session exploring the history of the World Cup, including key players, host nations, and insights for this year’s tournament.” The agent will then generate the podcast and save it to Spotify, providing a direct link to the playlist.
