Sony WH-1000XM6 Headphone Features Revealed Ahead of Launch

Sony is set to unveil the successor to its WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones on May 15th, based on leaked details reported by Dealabs and Android Authority.

The upcoming model, named the WH-1000XM6, was exposed through a now-removed Amazon Spain listing spotted by a Reddit user. The XM6 boasts an advanced QN3 HD noise-canceling processor, which Dealabs claims is seven times faster than the QN1 chip in the XM5. This upgrade promises superior noise cancellation and potentially enhanced audio quality. The headphones also feature an AI-driven six-microphone beamforming system for clearer calls and retain a headphone jack.

However, trade tariffs from the Trump administration may impact the XM6’s pricing. According to Dealabs, the headphones will retail for $449.99 in the US, a $50 increase over the $399.99 XM5, which our senior reviewer Chris Welch praised as the top wireless headphones for most users. While the XM5 only marginally improved noise cancellation over the 2020 XM4, the XM6 will need significant advancements to justify its higher cost.
