Seedance 2.0 Launches with Unified Multimodal AI for Industrial-Grade Content Creation
On February 12, 2026, ByteDance's Seed team officially launched its next-generation video creation model, Seedance 2.0. This release introduces a unified multimodal architecture for joint audio-visual generation, signaling a shift in AI video creation from isolated technical advances to a stage of comprehensive, industry-ready collaboration.
Technological Leap: From Generating Images to Understanding Physics
Compared to version 1.5, Seedance 2.0 delivers significantly improved performance in complex scenes involving interactions and motion. The model tackles logical challenges in high-difficulty actions—such as pair skating and multi-person competitions—through superior physics simulation, ensuring movements are both continuous and realistic. Furthermore, the new version supports 15-second, high-quality multi-angle video output and incorporates stereo dual-channel audio technology, creating a fully immersive experience with perfectly synchronized sight and sound.

Full-Modal Versatility: Director-Level Creative Control
Seedance 2.0 removes traditional barriers between media types. It supports four input modalities—text, image, audio, and video—and allows users to reference up to nine images alongside multiple audio and video clips simultaneously. Creators can precisely specify composition, camera movement, and even text-based storyboards, achieving a true "what you imagine is what you get" workflow.
Beyond Generation: Advanced Editing and Expansion
To meet the demands of professional creative pipelines, Seedance 2.0 introduces robust video editing and extension features. Users can make targeted adjustments to specific segments or character actions, or seamlessly extend a scene based on a text prompt. This "continue shooting" capability significantly lowers production barriers and costs for film, advertising, and e-commerce projects.
Seedance 2.0 is now available on the JI Meng AI and Dou Bao platforms. While the team notes there is still progress to be made in multi-subject consistency and fine detail realism, the model's demonstrated multimodal generalization capabilities are already at a state-of-the-art industry level.
