Samsung Integrates Google's Gemini into Ballie Home Robot

Samsung announced on Wednesday an exciting new development for its home robot, Ballie, through a collaboration with Google Cloud. This partnership will see the integration of Google's Gemini AI into Ballie, allowing users to interact with the robot by asking a variety of questions, which Gemini will then answer.
The goal is to harness Gemini's advanced multimodal capabilities, combining them with Samsung's own AI technology. This will enable Ballie to process both audio and video inputs to respond to a wide range of inquiries. For instance, if you ask Ballie, "How am I looking?" the robot can use its camera and visual intelligence to offer outfit suggestions.
Beyond fashion advice, Ballie will leverage Gemini to provide health-related recommendations, such as exercise routines and tips for better sleep. Additionally, the robot will be equipped to handle general knowledge queries, making it a versatile companion in the home.
Enhancing Home Life with AI
“Through this partnership, Samsung and Google Cloud are redefining the role of AI in the home,” stated Yongjae Kim, EVP of Samsung’s visual display business. He emphasized that by integrating Gemini's powerful multimodal reasoning with Samsung's AI capabilities in Ballie, they are ushering in a new era of personalized AI companionship. This collaboration aims to create a robot that not only moves with users but also anticipates their needs and interacts in dynamic, meaningful ways.
Ballie's Journey to Consumers
Samsung has been showcasing various iterations of Ballie at trade shows like CES for years. The company announced earlier in 2025 that Ballie would finally be available to consumers in South Korea and the U.S. during the first half of the year.
This isn't the first time Samsung and Google have joined forces. They previously collaborated to integrate Gemini into Samsung's Galaxy series smartphones, starting with the Galaxy S24. There are also rumors that the two tech giants are developing an XR device together, with Gemini potentially playing a key role in enhancing the user experience.

This is wild! Samsung teaming up with Google to put Gemini AI in Ballie? I can’t wait to see how this robot answers my random questions—like, can it explain quantum physics while vacuuming? 🤖

Samsung's Ballie with Google's Gemini is pretty cool! Now I can ask it random stuff and it actually responds. Sometimes the answers are a bit off, but it's fun to play around with. Could be a game-changer for home automation if they refine it more. 🤖
