Resident Evil Requiem Sets Release for Next Year

After a clever teaser that playfully hinted no announcement was coming, Capcom has now officially revealed Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline installment in the series. It is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox.
The reveal was made through an extended trailer that initially centered on an office setting, taking its time before confirming it was indeed the next Resident Evil game. Then, as expected, the atmosphere turned deeply unsettling. Capcom confirms the new title will be a survival horror experience, though few other details were shared, stating only that players will "escape death in a heart-pounding ordeal that will send shivers down your spine."
This game serves as a sequel to 2021's Resident Evil Village, which itself followed a revitalizing return to survival horror roots with the seventh entry. Alongside new releases, Capcom has sustained the franchise's momentum with a series of high-profile remakes of classic titles, the most recent being 2023's Resident Evil 4.

Capcom really knows how to troll with that 'no announcement' teaser 😂 But hey, Requiem sounds epic! February 2026 feels like forever though... hope they don't pull a RE6 and overdo the action. Gimme that classic survival horror vibe, please 🙏
