Users of Codex currently operating on GPT-5.5 are urged to migrate to GPT-5.6 Sol or GPT-6 Astra immediately. The company clarified that this deprecation applies to all plans, offering GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra as the designated alternatives for affected users.
Previously, OpenAI introduced GPT-5.5 on April 24, highlighting its ability to lower token usage while performing tasks equivalent to those handled by GPT-5.4.
