Microsoft's latest AI roadmap for Windows 11 has been unveiled. After analyzing a 14-page official technical document, tech media reports reveal plans to integrate two significant AI capabilities directly into the operating system.
These features include "Ask Copilot," an intelligent assistant for the taskbar, and an Excel table extraction tool integrated with the Click to Do utility. Microsoft is reportedly rolling out initial access to its Frontier enterprise customers, though the official launch timeline and final feature set remain subject to change.
A Smarter Taskbar Experience
The revamped Ask Copilot feature transforms the taskbar, embedding it directly into the user's workflow via the taskbar and Start menu. It is deeply connected to the Microsoft 365 Copilot ecosystem and powered by a dedicated background AI agent.
This integration allows employees to find information without constantly switching to a browser. Users can quickly access company policies, get task summaries, or check project status directly from the taskbar, minimizing workflow disruptions from app switching.
Transform Images into Editable Spreadsheets
The other major upgrade focuses on the "Click to Do" tool, designed for Windows 11 AI-powered PCs. This functionality uses an on-device visual model to precisely identify and extract text, graphics, and complex tables from any on-screen content.
