Cloud computing firm Lambda has significantly expanded its partnership with Microsoft through a major AI infrastructure agreement.
Nvidia-backed Lambda revealed a multibillion-dollar agreement with Microsoft on Monday to deploy tens of thousands of Nvidia GPUs, according to a company announcement. While the precise value remains confidential, the deployment will include Nvidia GB300 NVL72 systems introduced earlier this year that recently commenced shipping.
"It's remarkable to witness the Microsoft and Lambda teams collaborating on deploying these massive AI supercomputers," stated Stephen Balaban, Lambda's CEO, in the press release. "Our eight-year partnership with Microsoft makes this a phenomenal advancement in our relationship."
Microsoft launched its inaugural Nvidia GB300 NVL72 cluster in October.
Founded in 2012 before the current AI surge and having raised $1.7 billion in venture funding, Lambda exemplifies companies benefiting from escalating demand as organizations rapidly adopt AI infrastructure and computing resources.
This development follows Microsoft's recent $9.7 billion AI cloud capacity agreement with IREN, an Australian data center provider.
Earlier today, OpenAI disclosed a $38 billion cloud computing arrangement with Amazon for seven years of cloud services. The AI company also reportedly secured a $300 billion cloud compute agreement with Oracle in September.
