JD.com's Research Institute has open-sourced its independently developed JoyAI-Image-Edit model, representing a significant leap in AI photo editing from conventional 2D manipulation to advanced 3D spatial modeling. As the industry's first open-source model focused on "spatial intelligence," it equips AI with the capability to genuinely comprehend and reconstruct physical environments.
Advanced 3D Spatial Modeling
The model is designed to adhere closely to real-world physics, comprehensively modeling aspects like camera perception and object displacement. This enables developers to utilize inference code for precise spatial edits while preserving the scene's geometric consistency.
JoyAI-Image-Edit addresses persistent challenges in spatial understanding within the open-source community, offering high recognition accuracy. A key feature is its ability to adjust the camera's yaw, pitch, and zoom levels flexibly based on natural language commands.
Enabling Versatile Applications
Furthermore, the model supports continuous perspective movement, generating logically coherent visual sequences. It maintains overall structural integrity while scaling or relocating specific objects, ensuring natural lighting, shadows, and occlusion effects.
Beyond its pioneering spatial features, the model fully supports 15 common editing tasks, such as object addition, removal, and style transfer.
