Google on Tuesday introduced a "Create My Widget" feature for Android that lets users build personalized widgets with natural language prompts. The feature will debut this summer on the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones.
To create a widget, users simply describe what they want in natural language. For instance, you might ask for "three high-protein meal prep recipes every week," and the system generates a custom dashboard you can add to and resize on your home screen.
If you're a cyclist focused solely on wind speed and rain, you can create a weather widget that displays only those specific metrics on your home screen.
Gemini can also fetch data from the web and integrate with Google apps such as Gmail and Calendar to create a unified, personalized dashboard. For example, if you're organizing a family reunion in Berlin, it can collect flight and hotel information, show restaurant reservations, and even include a countdown timer.

This feature represents Google's latest effort to embed generative AI more deeply into the Android experience, as tech companies compete to make customization tools more user-friendly for everyday people.
"It's like asking your personal assistant a question and having them bring you the answer on repeat," said Ben Greenwood, Director of Product Management for Android Core Experiences, during a press briefing. "Think of it as asking Gemini about the world—about events and ongoing happenings—as well as about your personal data. Those two areas unlock a huge number of use cases that we're really excited about."
Google announced this feature alongside the launch of Gemini Intelligence, which introduces capabilities such as advanced autofill, AI-powered voice dictation for Gboard, and more.
