Android Battery Health Feature Exclusive to Latest Google Pixel Phones

Google is developing a battery health menu to help you understand why your Android phone's battery life may be diminishing. While similar to a feature iPhone introduced in 2018, this tool won't be coming to older devices that would benefit most from it.
As noted by Android Authority and discussed on Reddit, a Google developer stated on the public Android Issue Tracker that the battery health indicator will be exclusive to the Pixel 8A and newer models. The developer cited "infeasibility" as the reason, confirming Google "won't fix" this limitation for older Pixels.
This response was given to users testing on devices like the Pixel 6 and Pixel 8 Pro:
Status: Won’t Fix (Infeasible)
Thank you for reporting this. The Battery Health Indicator feature is currently supported in Beta 3 on Pixel 8a and Pixel 9 products including 9 Pro Fold. Due to product limitations, this feature will not be available on older in-market Pixel devices.
Google first introduced the battery health indicator to Android 16 beta testers in March, with development traces going back to 2023. We've contacted Google for comment on why the feature is restricted to the Pixel 8A and Pixel 9 series but have not yet received a reply.
