Google Rolls Out AI Feature Worldwide with Spanish Language Support

Google announced on Tuesday that it's launching its AI-powered search experience, AI Mode, for Spanish-speaking users. This move makes Google's conversational search interface available to a wider audience, enabling people to ask questions naturally, have follow-up conversations, upload images, explore complex subjects in depth, and more.
The Spanish language release follows Google's major AI Mode expansion in August, when the feature rolled out to 180 additional countries worldwide. Previously, it was only accessible in the United States, United Kingdom, and India. That same August update also gave Google AI Ultra subscribers enhanced AI features, including the ability to book restaurant reservations through AI Mode. Google intends to add support for scheduling other types of appointments and purchasing event tickets down the line.
Google has been aggressively integrating AI into its products, frequently announcing multiple updates at once. For example, on Tuesday the company also revealed it's making conversational photo editing available to all Android users in the U.S. The same day, Google announced its more budget-friendly Google AI Plus subscription, initially launched in Indonesia, is now expanding to 40 more countries. This growth comes after OpenAI recently introduced its ChatGPT Go plan, which debuted in India in August and in Indonesia on Tuesday.
The ChatGPT Go plan is a mid-range subscription that bridges the gap between OpenAI's free version and its premium $20 monthly ChatGPT Plus plan. It offers users ten times higher usage limits than the free tier for submitting questions, creating images, and uploading files. OpenAI states the plan also improves ChatGPT's ability to recall past conversations, leading to increasingly personalized responses over time.
Google also announced earlier this month that AI Mode now supports Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese.
With so many offerings, it can be challenging for users to tell different features apart, such as the distinction between Google's AI Mode and its AI Overviews. AI Mode is a dedicated, immersive conversational experience where users interact directly with Gemini AI. In contrast, AI Overviews provide a brief, AI-generated summary of information related to your search query at the top of Google's Search results.
