Google Unveils AI Voice Tools for Gmail, Docs, and Keep, Enhancing Workspace Interaction
Google has officially rolled out conversational AI voice capabilities, driven by Gemini, across Gmail, Docs, and Keep. These features are branded as Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live, respectively.
Users can now interact with their AI assistant through natural language and voice commands to query inbox contents, generate document drafts, or automatically organize recipes and lists without manual typing. During these interactions, the system records text in real-time and pulls information from multiple sources—including Gmail, Google Drive, and external websites—to support content creation.

This launch represents a key step in the voice ecosystem previewed at Google I/O this past May. Currently, Gmail Live is accessible to Google One Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, while Docs Live and Keep Live are available for Pro and Ultra users. The features support English versions on iOS and Android, with plans to expand to Workspace enterprise users in the future.
This update aligns with Google’s ongoing push for voice interaction. Earlier this year, in April, Google introduced cross-app voice input for Mac applications. By August, it released the Gemini 3.5 Transcribe model to improve voice-to-text accuracy, and launched the Rambler voice tool on Pixel 11 devices to filter out filler words from speech.
As conversational voice becomes deeply embedded in core applications, Google is accelerating the shift from single-command inputs to full-scene natural conversations, significantly enhancing the intelligence of productivity tools.
