Google Gemini Enhances AI Chats with Receipts

Google's Gemini AI chatbot has just gotten a nifty upgrade that lets it remember and use info from your past chats, according to a recent blog post. Now, Gemini can sum up old conversations or pull up details you mentioned in different threads. This means you don't have to keep repeating yourself or dig through old messages to find what you need.
Starting today, English-speaking folks who pay $20 a month for Google One AI Premium can use this new recall feature. Google plans to roll it out to more languages and enterprise users in the coming weeks.
The idea behind this update is to make chatting with Gemini feel more natural and personal. But, not everyone might be cool with the idea of their old chats being stored.
To tackle privacy worries, Google lets you check, delete, or set how long your chat history sticks around. You can even switch off the recall feature completely by heading to the "My Activity" page in Gemini. Google also promises they won't use your chat history to train their AI models.
It's not just Google; other AI chatbot makers are also playing around with memory and recall features. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, mentioned that better memory is one of the top things people want from ChatGPT.
Both Google and OpenAI have added general "memory" features to their chatbots over the last year. These let ChatGPT and Gemini remember little things about you, like your name, what you like to eat, or that you'd rather bike than drive. But, these memory features don't automatically keep track of your entire chat history like Gemini's new recall feature does.

Wow, this sounds useful! I hate having to repeat myself in AI chats... But does this mean Google will have access to all my conversation history? That's a bit concerning for privacy 😅 Still, cool feature!
Finally! No more repeating myself in every chat 🎉 But uh... will Gemini accidentally spill my embarrassing late-night pizza cravings from last month's convo? Asking for a friend. 😅
Gemini's new feature is a lifesaver! No more repeating myself in chats. It remembers everything, which is super handy for long convos. Just wish it was a bit quicker at pulling up old info. Still, a solid upgrade! 🤓
