HomeGoogle adds a Gemini panel to Calendar to help you manage your schedule
Google is currently experimenting with a new AI-powered feature called Gemini, integrated as a side panel in Google Calendar. This innovative tool allows users to interact conversationally with their calendar, making it easier to check schedules, set up events, and retrieve event details. You can try out this feature if you're part of Google's early access program, known as Google Workspace Labs.
To use Gemini, simply click on the "Ask Gemini" icon located at the top right corner of your Google Calendar interface. Once there, you can either choose from pre-set prompts or type in your own queries. For example, Gemini might suggest prompts like "Add a lunch event" or "Find the next meeting" with a specific person.
If you're looking for more ideas, just click on the "More suggestions" button, and Gemini will provide additional options tailored to your needs.

Of course, you can also get creative and craft your own prompts. Ask things like, "When is my next meeting with Emily?" or "How many meetings do I have on Monday?" If you're looking to get more organized, you might say, "Add a weekly workout every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6 AM."
The whole point of Gemini is to streamline your calendar management, eliminating the need to manually sift through your schedule or add events. By using Gemini's conversational capabilities, you can get things done much quicker and more efficiently.
Google Calendar joins the ranks of other Workspace apps like Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Chat, which have already incorporated the Gemini side panel. As for when this feature will become available to the general public, that's still up in the air.
