Google's Gemini Live has introduced exciting new features that enhance real-time interaction with your surroundings. Currently, the live camera and screenshare functions are being rolled out to Pixel 9 series phones and Samsung Galaxy S25 devices. If you're using another Android device, don't worry—this update is on its way to you too, though you'll need a Gemini Advanced subscription to enjoy these perks.
Activating the live video feature is as easy as pressing a button, allowing you to ask Gemini Live questions about whatever your camera is pointing at. For instance, you could aim your camera at an aquarium and inquire about the different fish swimming by. Google showcased this capability in their April Pixel Drop video, making it clear how intuitive and helpful it can be.
But that's not all—Gemini Live also offers a new screenshare button. Imagine browsing a shopping website and needing advice on which product to choose or how to style an outfit. With a simple tap, you can share your screen with Gemini Live, and the AI will provide you with personalized recommendations and insights.
These features started rolling out last month, as confirmed by Google spokesperson Alex Joseph to *The Verge*. Some users on Reddit have already experienced these updates on their devices, including a Xiaomi phone. Originally showcased at Google's I/O developer conference in May as part of "Project Astra," these additions are set to change the way we interact with our devices.
Gemini Live supports 45 languages and is available in select countries for users aged 18 and above, though it's not available for education and enterprise accounts. So, keep an eye out for this update and get ready to see the world through the eyes of Gemini Live!
