Forza Horizon 6 Confirms Japan Location for 2026 Release

Playground Games is set to release the next chapter of the Forza Horizon franchise next year, this time taking players to Japan. Following an early reveal on the official Forza Horizon Instagram account this morning, Microsoft shared an official teaser trailer during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show livestream.
The teaser doesn’t show gameplay, but Forza Horizon 6 will let players explore the neon-lit streets and skyscrapers of Tokyo, along with an open world set across various regions of Japan. "This location has been the most-requested since the original game, and we're excited to reveal more next year," says Matt Booty, Xbox president of game content and studios.
Forza Horizon 6 will launch first on Xbox and PC in 2026, though it won’t arrive on PS5 the same day. Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are "collaborating to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PlayStation 5 after its initial release." The developers plan to share more details "early in 2026."
With Forza Horizon 6 confirmed for a 2026 launch, the coming year looks busy for Xbox, especially Playground Games. Xbox head Phil Spencer mentioned earlier this year that the next Forza title would arrive in 2026, and Forza Horizon 6 will be joined by Gears of War: E-Day, a Halo CE remaster, and Playground’s own Fable.
Forza Horizon 6 will release one year after Microsoft brought the previous title, Forza Horizon 5, to PS5. The four-year-old game climbed to the top of Sony’s PlayStation Store charts, making it one of the platform’s most popular games this year.
