ComfyUI Secures $30 Million in Funding at $500 Million Valuation

On April 24th, AI startup ComfyUI, which grew from an open-source project, announced a $30 million funding round, valuing the company at $500 million. The investment was led by Craft Ventures, with contributions from Pace Capital, Chemistry, and TruArrow. As a node-based workflow platform, ComfyUI solves a key issue with mainstream diffusion models: their lack of precise control when creating images, videos, and audio. It enables users to meticulously fine-tune every stage of the generation process.
Unlike the "slot machine" style of black-box interactions found in prompt-based tools like Midjourney or ChatGPT, ComfyUI's precise and collaborative approach has attracted over 4 million users. Its applications extend across professional domains including visual effects, animation, advertising, and industrial design.
Since its open-source release in 2023, ComfyUI has rapidly bridged a critical technical gap, moving generative AI from simple "text-to-output" toward industrial-grade production. Even as the underlying diffusion models continue to evolve, the need for high-precision, repeatable workflows has grown stronger. In fact, the specialized role of "ComfyUI Artist" is now emerging as a new job title within creative studios.
Following a $19 million Series A round at the end of 2024, ComfyUI is strengthening its core position in the AI creator toolchain. As human-computer collaboration deepens, this productivity-focused, node-based workflow is moving beyond basic conversational interfaces, establishing itself as the standard operating procedure for professional AI media generation.
