Claude Introduces Offline Code Execution and Automated Workflows for Mac
Anthropic has introduced the "Routines" feature for Claude Code, an automated service built on web infrastructure. It aims to solve the pain points developers face when manually managing cron jobs and infrastructure.

Cloud Automation: Execute Tasks Offline
The core benefit of this feature is cloud-based task execution:
Freedom from Local Constraints: Developers can bundle automated tasks with code repositories and connectors. This ensures scheduled tasks complete on time, even when the Mac is offline.
Flexible Triggers: Supports execution based on schedules or specific trigger conditions, making it suitable for cron jobs, API workflows, and GitHub automation.
Subscription Tiers and Usage Limits
Currently available as a research preview, different subscription levels provide varying execution quotas:
Pro Users: Can run 5 routines daily.
Max Users: Have a daily quota of 15 routines.
Team and Enterprise Users: Support running 25 routines per day.
Alongside automated routines, Anthropic also launched a redesigned Claude Code Mac client.
It introduces parallel sessions, enabling users to run multiple Claude instances side-by-side in a single window. The new version integrates a terminal, file editor, and HTML/PDF previews, alongside a faster diff viewer. A sidebar provides unified management and a drag-and-drop layout, allowing developers to customize their workspace arrangement.
This update signals Claude Code's evolution from a basic programming assistant into a more comprehensive developer platform capable of automating complex workflows.
