On April 2, in response to media inquiries about Meta's acquisition of the AI startup Manus, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong addressed the matter at a regular press briefing. He Yadong emphasized that the Chinese government consistently supports companies in pursuing cross-border operations and technological collaborations based on their developmental needs. However, he clarified that such activities must strictly adhere to Chinese laws and regulations and complete all required legal procedures.
Earlier reports indicated that Meta, Facebook's parent company, was actively progressing with its plan to acquire Manus.
