Unlock New ChatGPT App Integrations for Spotify, Figma, Canva

OpenAI has introduced new app integrations within ChatGPT that let you link your accounts directly. This allows you to ask the assistant to perform tasks for you. For example, with a Spotify connection, you can request it to craft personalized playlists that then appear in your Spotify app.

To begin, ensure you are logged into your ChatGPT account. Simply start your prompt by typing the name of the app you wish to use. ChatGPT will then walk you through the steps to sign in and link your account.

For a one-time setup of multiple apps, navigate to the Settings menu and select 'Apps and Connectors'. Here, you can browse the available applications, choose your preferences, and you'll be directed to the respective sign-in page for each one.

Be aware that connecting an account means you are sharing your app data with ChatGPT. Please review the permissions you grant during the linking process. For instance, linking Spotify gives ChatGPT access to your playlists, listening history, and other personal data. (While this enables personalized experiences, consider your privacy comfort level before proceeding.)

You can disconnect any app at any time directly from the Settings menu.

Booking.com

This integration with the online travel leader helps travelers, especially first-timers seeking accommodation recommendations.

After linking your Booking.com account, you can ask ChatGPT to find hotels in a chosen city based on your travel dates and budget. Specify the number of guests and proximity to public transport. The aim is to make the search more intuitive than using the Booking.com site directly. You can also be more detailed, such as requesting options "with included breakfast."

Canva within ChatGPT is a valuable tool for graphic designers and anyone needing to produce visual content swiftly. Whether for social media posts, posters, or presentation slides, it's an excellent way to kickstart projects and brainstorm ideas.

After connecting your Canva account, instruct ChatGPT to design items such as "a 16:9 slide deck about our Q4 roadmap" or "a fun poster for a dog-walking service." Include specifics like preferred fonts, color palettes, formats (e.g., Instagram posts), and exact dimensions.

AI-generated designs may not be flawless—occasionally featuring odd images or typos. However, many find it a helpful starting point before jumping into Canva to refine and perfect the design.

Coursera

This integration helps you quickly discover the best online courses for your skill level. You can ask ChatGPT to find an "intermediate-level Python course," compare options by rating, duration, and price, and get a summary of each course's curriculum before you enroll.

Expedia

ChatGPT can display hotel and flight options from Expedia directly in the chat. For quick getaways or extended trips, it finds flights matching your dates, budget, and group size. Refine searches with prompts like "Only show 4-star hotels." When you see something you like, head to Expedia to book.

Figma

Use ChatGPT with Figma to generate diagrams, flowcharts, and more. This is ideal for turning ideas from brainstorming sessions into tangible visuals or for illustrating complex concepts and workflows.

You can also upload files and ask the chatbot to create a product roadmap for your team, including key milestones, deliverables, and deadlines to keep everyone aligned.

Spotify

A key benefit of the Spotify integration is quickly creating playlists and discovering song recommendations tailored to your taste. Ask for a playlist based on your current mood or one featuring only your favorite band.

It can also suggest new artists, playlists, audiobooks, and podcasts. Furthermore, ChatGPT can manage your library by adding or removing items on your behalf.

Zillow

If you're house hunting, Zillow in ChatGPT streamlines the search. Use a simple text prompt to find homes matching your criteria and apply filters. Specify price range, number of bedrooms, or desired neighborhoods for a more efficient and personalized search.

What's Next?

Alongside announcing these app integrations, OpenAI stated plans to add more partners soon, including DoorDash, OpenTable, Target, Uber, and Walmart, with launches expected later this year.

Currently, ChatGPT's app integrations are rolling out only in the U.S. and Canada. Users in Europe and the U.K. do not have access at this time.
